BS Psychology

Psychology is the science of behavior and the mind. In the BS Program, the study of Psychology provides an understanding of the basic processes of sensation, perception, learning, cognition, development, and personality along with the principles of Social Psychology, Clinical Psychology, and Behavioral Neuroscience. The knowledge of psychological principles and scientific methods for evaluating theories and research in the Social Sciences is essential in our rapidly changing society. The Department of Psychology is established at CIAS, Islamabad with the purpose of providing training and assistance to promising psychologist so that they can become proficient professionals in the field. This is to improve the role of psychologists in the scenario of today’s world. We seek to provide appropriate, one-on-one training to our students to make them become skilled professionals. Our aim is to impart working knowledge to our students so that they are provided a variety of opportunities to grow and shine not only academically but also in the professional setup and research. The programs offered in this department serve to the curriculum requirements of today’s world and according to the dynamics of field of psychology. We endeavor to impart our students the changing trends of society and psychology through various workshops, trainings and seminars. Our skillful faculty is capable not only as scholars but are also practicing psychologist with years of practical exposure. This helps them condense expert knowledge regarding the various facets of psychology. Eligibility Criteria

  1. All genders from Pakistan or abroad are eligible for admission.
  2. The maximum age limit for the eligibility is 20 years on the closing date of the applications. However, in special circumstances, the age may be relaxed up to 2 years by the Competent Authority. Furthermore for Evening Program the maximum age limit will be considered 24 year and 02 year age relaxation may be granted in special case by the Competent Authority on the request of student. For programs offered in Distance Learning Education, there is no age limit.
  3. The candidates with at least 45% marks in FA/F.Sc./I.Com/ICS or equivalent examination are eligible to apply for all programs.
  4. Admissions forms can be download from website of institute and same along with education documents can be uploaded after filling.
  5. Admission will be granted strictly on merit i.e. on the basis of the marks obtained in FA/F.Sc./I.Com/ICS or equivalent examinations in 2017 and 2016 for morning programs.
  6. Admission will be granted provisionally subject to verification of the certificates of the candidates from the relevant Secondary Board. Equivalence certificate is required from relevant IBCC (where applicable).
